A Message From the Committee
St Catherines Hill Community Hall was opened in 2001 and has served the community of St Catherines and Jumpers well. Run by an enthusiastic committee, and caretaker, it oversees maintenance, cleaning, and fundraising. It liaises with the hirers who run a wide range of activities from Friendship Groups, Art, Yoga, Pilates, Embroidery, Dance, Role-playing and Brownies. Organisations such as Parkinsons and the Women’s Institute also use the Hall. As such, the Hall occupies an important place in the community of St Catherines and Jumpers. We need and would welcome more volunteers to assist with fundraising and administration, as gradually, some of the present members are retiring. Should the committee become depleted it would be difficult to continue and the prospect of having to hand the Hall back over to the landlords, BCP Council, would have to be considered. St Catherines Hill, an area of outstanding natural beauty and the highest point in Christchurch, is home to a modern, spacious and
welcoming community hall.
Many events are held here on a regular basis and the Hall is also hired out for private functions such as children's parties, lunches, teas and quizzes.
Due to it's residential location it isn't suitable for teenage parties and evening functions need to finish by 11pm.
Only posters or flyers from our Regular Hirers are to be placed in the Hall.
We don't have the capacity to display any other posters or flyers and they will be removed.
